Draft--Post in Progress
Update
Today I am uploading most of the materials I have developed/adapted and used throughout the semester. Of course, I should have been uploading them as the semester progressed, but I was looking for a good excuse to sit here and write a post anyway. It must be my subconscious setting my agenda again. Click the links to to the lectures and Global Materials links to access the materials.

What's Worked (And What Hasn't)
At the beginning of the semester I made several decisions:
- To forgo the use of blogs and discussion fora in the Global Course. There are still too many students without regular access.
- To cater to the prevailing sentiment in the Global History Dept. at MCSM by switching from a thematic to a chronological organization for the course.
- To connect the chronological strands of the course by familiarizing the students through the theme of a cyclical power dialectic.
- To make Cornell Notes the standard homework assignment throughout the year.
- To speed up the pace of the course (this was also a department decision) in order to cover units spanning the Age of Absolutism to World War I in one semester.
