While serving as a student teacher, received a principal’s appointment (June 2007) to teach AP World History and Global History to 10th Grade students at a selective, high-need population high school in East Harlem.
- Collaborated on a Global History/AP World History curriculum development team.
- Launched a social studies peer-tutoring program that achieved a 100% pass rate on the NY State Regents Exam in Global History and Geography among participating students.
- Designed and maintained weblogs, discussion fora and wiki pages for student interaction within MCSM and with participating schools in New York and San Francisco.
- Developed extensive issues and theme-based lesson, unit and course plans.
- Organized enrichment and visitation programs with local Islamic and Buddhist community centers.
